Lors d’un évènement organisé par COFICERT et qui s’est déroulé chez Euronext Paris, des entreprises et des institutions ont pu mettre en avant la gouvernance, la conformité, la lutte contre le blanchiment de capitaux, la lutte contre la corruption et les critères ESG.

COFICERT et  IGSF – International Group for Sustainable Finance  se sont engagés pour la promotion des standards internationaux de gouvernance et de conformité.

Des personnalités sont venus parler de leur certification 2026 dans les domaines cités plus haut.

Yassin El Sayyad, le Président (Chairman) de la société Elsayyad Group Egypt. La société est notamment un acteur majeur de la distribution automobile en Égypte.

Didier Testot : Yassin Elsayyad, merci d’être avec nous aujourd’hui. Vous êtes le président du groupe Elsayyad, un groupe égyptien. Quelle est votre réaction après l’obtention de la certification par Coficert ? Comment le groupe a-t-il travaillé au cours des derniers mois, de l’année écoulée, pour obtenir cette certification ?

Jassin El Sayyad : Notre groupe est une société holding, et nous avons plusieurs entreprises sous l’égide de ce groupe. Nous avons une société appelée Prime Property pour l’immobilier. Nous avons également Prime pour la distribution automobile, et nous avons Hertz pour la location de voitures. Bien sûr, chaque entreprise est indépendante, mais le groupe Elsayyad est la holding. Comme toute autre entreprise en Égypte, nous avons notre audit interne et notre auditeur externe. Lorsque nous avons décidé de viser cette certification, nous l’avons considérée comme un audit supplémentaire pour nous, car vous ne pouvez pas obtenir le certificat à moins d’être entièrement audité. J’ai vraiment apprécié ce qui s’est passé, car nous avons été audités par le groupe. Ils nous ont audités, et nous avons beaucoup amélioré nos procédures internes en fonction de leurs recommandations. C’est donc une valeur ajoutée. C’est la raison pour laquelle j’ai recommandé à d’autres entreprises que nous connaissons de chercher à obtenir une telle certification. Cela nous aide également car nous travaillons avec diverses banques, à l’échelle locale et internationale. Lorsqu’elles ont su que nous avions cette certification délivrée d’ici, cela a vraiment apporté plus de soutien à l’entreprise. C’est pourquoi je suis venu ici aujourd’hui pour assister à l’événement, afin de nous présenter et de rencontrer d’autres personnes.

Didier Testot : Nous savons que le contexte international n’est pas facile ; il y a des guerres, des crises climatiques, d’autres crises. Chaque semaine, nous avons une nouvelle crise, ce n’est pas facile pour une entreprise. Comment votre entreprise s’adapte-t-elle à ce nouveau contexte ? Ajustez-vous votre stratégie à cause de cela ?

Jassin El Sayyad : Oui, bien sûr, nous ajustons notre stratégie de temps en temps en fonction de la situation actuelle, en particulier de la situation politique. L’Égypte est très stable, et cela nous aide. En ce qui concerne l’immobilier, cela dépend du tourisme. Avec l’ouverture du nouveau musée en Égypte, nous avons conclu un contrat de gestion avec le groupe Emaar (la société holding Dubai Properties et Emaar) pour construire un hôtel 3 étoiles appelé Rove Hotel. Il se trouve à environ 10 minutes du nouveau musée en Égypte. Nous avons signé le contrat et nous commençons la construction maintenant. Cela nous aidera à améliorer nos activités et notre stratégie. De plus, nous améliorons notre offre d’appartements meublés à louer car il y a une forte demande pour cela. C’est géré par mon fils, qui a obtenu son diplôme aux États-Unis ; après son retour, il a commencé à diriger cette activité et il s’en sort très bien. L’autre type d’activité est la distribution automobile. Je pense que nous sommes pratiquement le distributeur automobile numéro un en Égypte pour la marque française Renault. Nous avons des showrooms et un atelier pour cela, et nous distribuons d’autres marques dans le secteur automobile. Nous sommes également agent pour Hertz, la société internationale de location de voitures. Si vous regardez bien, les trois types d’activités se soutiennent mutuellement. Nous sommes distributeurs de voitures et nous louons des voitures ; pour l’immobilier, nous mettons nos voitures à la disposition des clients. Tout se soutient mutuellement, et nous espérons continuer à croître.

Didier Testot : Pour l’avenir, pour l’année prochaine, pensez-vous davantage à la diversification ou restez-vous dans votre activité actuelle ?

Jassin El Sayyad : Non, nous restons dans notre activité car nous y voyons de l’avenir, et nous essayons de la développer et de l’étendre.

Didier Testot : Vous avez donc d’autres projets ?

Jassin El Sayyad : Oui, nous avons d’autres projets. En plus de l’hôtel, nous construisons actuellement un bâtiment de 62 chambres plus près du nouveau musée, à environ 5 minutes, et la demande a déjà commencé. Donc, dans ce domaine, nous essayons de développer l’entreprise.

Jassin El Sayyad : Merci, c’est un plaisir et j’ai vraiment apprécié l’événement d’aujourd’hui. C’était bien organisé, j’ai rencontré beaucoup de gens bien aujourd’hui, et nous avons discuté de nombreuses questions. J’ai hâte que cela se reproduise. Merci beaucoup.

Didier Testot: Yassin Elsayyad, thank you to be with us today. You’re the chairman of Elsayyad Group, Egypt Group. What is your reaction after the certification by Coficert? How was the group working during the past months, the past year, to have this certification?

Jassin El Sayyad: Our group is a holding company, and we have various companies under this group. We have one company called Prime Property for real estate. We have also Prime for car distribution, and we have Hertz for renting cars. Of course, each company is independent, but the Elsayyad Group is the holding one. Like any other company in Egypt, we have our internal audit and our external auditor. When we decided to go for this certification, we considered it as an extra audit to us, because you cannot get the certificate unless you are fully audited. I really appreciated what happened because we’ve been under audit by the group. They audited us, and we improved a lot of our internal procedures based on their recommendation. So it’s an added value. That’s the reason I recommended to other companies we know that they go for such certification. It also helps us because we work with various banks, locally and internationally. When they knew that we have this certification issued from here, it really gave more support to the company. That’s the reason I came here today to attend the event, in order to present ourselves and to get to know other people.

Didier Testot: We know that the international context is not easy; there are wars, climatic crises, other crises. Each week we have a new crisis, which is not easy for a company. How is your company adapting to this new context? Do you adapt your strategy because of that?

Jassin El Sayyad: Yes, of course, we adjust our strategy from time to time based on the current situation, especially the political situation. Egypt is very stable, and this helps us. When you talk about real estate, it depends on tourism. With the opening of the new museum in Egypt, we made a management contract with Emaar Group (the holding company Dubai Properties and Emaar) to build a 3-star chain hotel called Rove Hotel. It’s about 10 minutes away from the new museum in Egypt. We signed the contract and we are starting building now. This will help us to improve our business and our strategy. Also, we are improving the furnished flats for rent because there’s a big demand for that. This is operated by my son, who graduated from the United States; after he came back, he started to operate this business and he’s doing well. The other type of business is car distribution. I think we are almost the number one car distributor in Egypt for the French brand Renault. We have showrooms and a workshop for it, and we distribute other brands in the car business. We are also an agent for Hertz, the international rent-a-car company. If you look at it, the three types of business support each other. We are car distributors and we rent cars; for real estate, we use our cars for the clients to use. So they are all supporting each other, and hopefully, we are looking to grow.

Didier Testot: For the future, for the next year, do you think more about diversification or staying in the activity you are in?

Jassin El Sayyad: No, we stay in the activity because we see the future for it, and we are trying to develop and expand.

Didier Testot: So you have other projects?

Jassin El Sayyad: Yes, we have other projects. In addition to the hotel, we are building a building of 62 rooms closer to the new museum, about 5 minutes away, and the demand for it has already started. So, within this field, we are trying to develop the business.
