Lyon, 14 June 2017
Olympique Lyonnais has transferred international midfielder Corentin Tolisso to FC Bayern Munich for €41.5 million plus incentives of up to €6 million (French GAAP).
The amount of this transfer is the highest ever achieved by Olympique Lyonnais. The capital gain on the transfer is equal to the amount of the transfer, as the player is a product of OL Academy.
Corentin Tolisso arrived at Olympique Lyonnais in 2007 at the age of 13. He joined the professional squad in 2013, with which he played 160 matches, including 32 in the Champions and Europa Leagues, and scored 29 goals.
Olympique Lyonnais would like to thank Corentin for his career with OL, and for his commitment and devotion to the team, and we wish him every success with FC Bayern Munich.
Corentin Tolisso will be replaced by French international Clément Grenier, for whom AS Roma did not exercise its purchase option. Clément will be part of the professional squad next season.
Jean-Michel Aulas, said, “Corentin is an exceptional player, undoubtedly one of the best European players at his position, but he also has a strong personality. Last year he did not hesitate to turn down the outsized offer from Naples to play another season with the club that trained him, in the company of those he appreciates and respects. His departure will be both a qualitative and an emotional loss for OL, but we are also proud to see a player trained by OL Academy join one of Europe's top clubs, especially one we feel close to, headed by Kalle Rummenigge.”
