Olympique Lyonnais has signed Argentine international Emanuel Mammana, currently with the River Plate club, to a five-year contract until June 2021. The transfer fee amounted to €7.5 million.
Emanuel Mammana is considered one of Argentina's rising defensive stars. Trained at River Plate, where he played 37 matches, all competitions combined, and scored two goals, he made his first appearance on the national team at the age of 18.
Following the arrival of Polish international Maciej Rybus and Cameroon international Nicolas N'Koulou, Olympique Lyonnais has confirmed its ambition to continue moving the club forward by building an even more competitive professional squad for the forthcoming season, through the recruitment of the 20-year-old player Emanuel Mammana, who was courted by some of the most prominent European teams.
